Wellington School is seeking to recruit a Learning Support Assistant (ideally with a specialism in English support) to work across the Learning Support Departments of both the Prep and Senior School. Commencing as soon as practicable, this exciting role will have a varied remit supporting pupils from Year 3 to Year 8. Working with both Heads of Learning Support (Prep & Senior), this role aims to support and nurture pupils in a safe and positive learning environment.
Working in the classroom, or with small groups, or one to one, Learning Support Assistants seek to encourage pupils to think independently and give them the skills to flourish, whilst recognising that some pupils need a different approach to ensure they fulfil their potential. Candidates should have experience or suitable qualifications in Learning Support and English.
Applicants must be committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare. Successful applicants will be subject to an enhanced DBS and Child protection checks. We are an equal opportunities employer.

About Wellington School
Wellington School is a Church of England denominational, co-educational, day and boarding school in Somerset. As of the most recent inspection, there were 900 pupils on the school roll. The school’s motto is the opening of Psalm 127; ‘If God Be Not With Us, Our Labour is in Vain’. The Senior School teaches pupils between the ages of 11-18. The school also offers preparatory facilities from the ages of 3 onwards. Founded in 1837 as a boys school, Wellington has been fully independent and co-educational since 1978. The 35 acre site is a combination of traditional and more recent architecture. The school operates in both a boarding and day capacity.
