Are you looking for a position where you can work in a school, which is ambitious for every child and is highly inclusive, where you will work alongside exceptional colleagues who will support you to be your best?

Westminster City School is a successful 11-18 boys’ Christian non -denominational comprehensive academy with a mixed sixth form. Ours is a lively and vibrant learning community situated in the heart of central London with all the challenges and advantages of an inner city school. The school was judged as ‘Good’ by Ofsted in early 2013 with its curriculum and governance judged to be ‘Outstanding’. In 2017 Ofsted judged the school as continuing to be "Good". We are not complacent and are pro-active in our ambition to become recognised as an “Outstanding” school and standards have improved considerably since that judgement.

From November 2020 we are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, flexible individual with a passion for education, to support the learning of students with a range of special education needs. The successful candidate will work with colleagues across departments and with students across the curriculum so that they can be effective learners. The willingness to work with pupils from a variety of educational backgrounds and with a wide range of needs is essential. Previous experience in supporting students with ASD is desirable for this role.

We are looking for a colleague who is:

• Efficient, adaptable, personable and shares the school’s vision of wisdom, integrity, passion and excellence.

• Someone with clear boundaries and embodies high expectations

• Passionate about working with students with SEND

• Believes in the value and benefit of inclusive education

• Hard working and solution focused

• A team player with a sense of humour

• Believes passionately in the transformative power of education to change student’s lives

In exchange, we can offer you:

• Support for new members of staff via a well-established induction programme

• 100% focus on improving outcomes for the children in our school

• Professional development

• The full support of the SENDCO, senior staff and colleagues

We would particularly welcome applications from black and minority ethnic candidates.

Westminster City School is committed to safeguarding children and successful candidates will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check. Our commitment to safeguarding is underpinned by robust processes and checks which are in place within the school.
