Job overview

We are looking for someone to work under the direct instruction and guidance of the DSL, teaching staff and senior leadership team to support them in their administrative duties dealing with highly confidential information. The learning support assistant role is to support access to learning for pupils and provide  general support to the teacher in the management of pupils, resources and the classroom environment.

We are looking for an someone with:  

  • experience in providing an administrative service in conjunction with the safeguarding team,   dealing with requests in a professional manner;
  • the ability to handle and respond to telephone calls, answering and dealing with a variety of tasks and taking messages;
  • organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload at  busy times;
  • excellent computer skills and knowledge, including MS office applications and a willingness to learn new technology;
  • experience of working effectively and successfully with young people to remove barriers and 
  • support their learning, welfare and achievements;
  • Able to show initiative and prioritise one’s own work and that of others even when under pressure;
  • The skills to work successfully as a team member establishing effective working 
  • relationships and flexible working practice;  
  • Experience of  following  direction and working in collaboration with colleagues, parents, pupils and the school community.

About Woodmansterne

Woodmansterne is an oversubscribed school located in the heart of Streatham Vale within a diverse and vibrant community. We are currently in our fifth year of expansion from a two-form entry primary to an age 3 – 19 all-through community school.

Woodmansterne is at very exciting stage of its development, our secondary building has recently won an award for technological architecture from CIAT and we are now working towards welcoming 6th formers.
