Following on from our most recent OFSTED inspection (2014) describing us as ‘a good school with outstanding leadership’, we are looking to appoint an outstanding Learning Support Assistant to continue and contribute towards our forward momentum. Smallwood Primary is an expanding school, with a Language Resource Base and Children’s Centre, conveniently situated close to Earlsfield mainline station and Tooting Broadway underground.
We are passionate about the education of our children, continuous professional development of all staff and a strong partnership with parents and the wider community.
Our ideal Learning Support Assistants will be a calm, patient and resourceful individuals who will be able to respond positively to the challenges of working with pupils with Special Educational Needs, such as, ADHD, A.S.D and social and communication difficulties, within a mainstream class. Previous experience though not essential would be welcome. In order to be successful in this post, the candidates will need to have a good level of numeracy and literacy. You will also join our team of lunchtime supervisors to ensure the safety, well-being and good behaviour of pupils during the lunchtime break.
The candidates will be positive and enthusiastic in their approach and will seek to provide the opportunity for the children they are working with to achieve their full potential, both academically and socially.
