Description Catherine McAuley Catholic College is seeking a permanent full time Learning Support Coordinator to commence in Term 4, 2020. This position attracts an allowance at the level of Coordinator 1.

Position Requirements The Learning Support Coordinator works in collaboration with the school leadership team and has particular responsibility for the management of programs and processes to support students with additional needs (in consultation and collaboration with relevant school and CSO personnel)

The Learning Support Coordinator plays a vital role:


• In building partnerships between parents, students and staff and external specialists to ensure best care and education for students


• Identifying and support students with special education needs


• Working collaboratively to implement effective and targeted teaching and learning strategies within the classroom
Essential Criteria • Ability to articulate a clear understanding of and a personal commitment to Catholic Education and the mission of the Church through Catholic schools.

• Experience in Special Education in a Secondary School

• Qualifications in Special Education or commitment to undertake further study

• Qualifications as a four-year trained teacher;

• Possess high level communication skills and interpersonal skills, including empathy and confidentiality.

• Understanding of legislation relevant to Special Education and students with disability

• Ability to demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional learning.

• Current NESA Accreditation

• Paid Working With Children Check (WWCC)

• Completion of Anaphylaxis training

• Willingness to comply with the CSO Accreditation to Work, Teach and Lead Policy 2018 and willingness to work towards the current Accreditation at Category B: Accreditation to Teach

Conditions of EmploymentSalary is in accordance with New South Wales & Australian Capital Territory Catholic Systemic Schools Enterprise Agreement 2017. This position attracts a 1 Point Coordinator Allowance of $7,993 annually plus base salary.
