We provide high quality specialist in-house support such as speech and language therapy and specialist teaching. About the role

You will manage the support provision for learners with SEND and ESOL, English and Maths support needs on mainstream courses. You will line manage specialists in disabilities, medical conditions and mental health needs along with a Lead Specialist Learning Assistant to ensure a highly effective service to learners. You will create personalised support packages in collaboration with the Specialist Services Assessment Manager so that learners can overcome barriers to learning and develop resilience and independence.

 

About you

You will have a clear understanding of the educational impact of a wide range of learning difficulties, disabilities, medical conditions and mental health needs and be able to lead and train a team to improve the achievement of learners. You will also have excellent interpersonal skills and a good knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice 2014.

Carshalton College is a co-educational further education college based in Sutton. It is a non-denominational school.

The college has been an education provider for over 60 years. It is a major provider of full-time, part-time, apprenticeships, access, undergraduate and supported learning courses. 

The college is situated in an environment surrounded by parks and ponds, but within a proximity of the towns of Sutton and Croydon. It is accessible from all areas of south London and its transport links also allow its students to be in the centre of London within 30 minutes.
