23.5 hours per week, Tuesday – Friday, Term time only

Denstone College wish to provide an exciting opportunity for an inspirational Learning Support Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and supportive Learning Support team. You will be responsible for providing one to one support in core subjects as well as general classroom support when required by the Head of Learning Support. 

Denstone College and The Prep at Denstone College are a leading independent school in rural Staffordshire. Founded in 1873, Denstone College is a thriving, co-educational boarding and day school of approximately 720 pupils, situated close to Uttoxeter. We have our own preparatory school, which has recently moved onto the main campus, providing continuous education on the same site for pupils aged from 4–18. The school is part of the Woodard Corporation, and the Head is in membership of HMC.

The successful candidate will: 

  • Have experience of working with children with Special Educational Needs, particularly in the area of ADHD
  • Be working at or achieved Teaching Assistant Level 2 qualification 
  • Have experience of monitoring and reporting on the progress of SEN pupils 
  • Have experience of planning, preparing and delivering specific assistance to pupil and the creation of additional resources. 
  • Have the ability to develop strong, positive working relationships with pupils and parents alongside colleagues with the department and across the college
  • Have People skills including empathy and listening skills 
  • Have Good time management and organisation
  • Have the Ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with children and young people
