Job overview

Priory Coleg Wales is looking to employ a proactive, confident and enthusiastic Learner Support Worker to join our team.

Duties will include:

  • Working 1:1 with allocated learners in the college environment
  • Offering support with academic work and building on independence and employability skills through our Independent Living Skills Programme
  • This is a term time contract and a certain degree of flexibility is essential as hours are based around the learner’s timetable and learners will based in one of our campuses in Ebbw Vale, Usk, Pontypool, Cwmbran, Newport or Crosskeys.

It would be preferable, but not essential, if applicants had previous experience of working with students with special educational needs and autistic spectrum conditions.

Staff may be required to work outside term time if training is required. The successful candidate will need to hold a full clean driving license with access to their own vehicle as travel to other campuses in the area is required.

Priory College South Wales is an independent, specialist co-educational college for young adults aged 16 to 25 with Asperger's syndrome, autistic spectrum disorders and associated conditions based in Torfaen.  The college was set up in partnership with Coleg Gwent, the largest further education college in Wales, to meet the academic, social and emotional needs of our young people.
