We are looking to appoint a strong, enthusiastic, committed, and creative Learning Teaching Assistant (LTA) to work with children with a range of abilities including those who have an EHCP. All of our LTAs are expected to be flexible in their approach by enhancing teaching and learning, and pastoral care through various ways.

The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO, and should have good numeracy, literacy, and communication skills.

The post is to start on Monday 25th January 2021 for a Fixed term period TBC.

The LTA will be required to work flexibly taking direction from the class teachers and SENCO in planning and administering the curriculum and following the EHC plans. These can include specialist programmes for emotional and behaviour support, speech and Language interventions and sensory programmes.

Candidates must be able to carry out and write up necessary observations to inform and evaluate the children’s needs. They must have proven experience in a a school setting working with primary age group children.

Candidates must be able to use their own initiatives and have a good standard of spoken and written English. Longshaw can offer a friendly, supportive staff with a great offer of professional development. Our children are culturally diverse and eager to learn.

About Longshaw Primary Academy

Longshaw is a one form entry primary school in Chingford, catering for children from Nursery to Year 6 (3 – 11 year olds). We also run a popular morning Parent Toddler group once a week run by our well qualified and experienced early years staff.

Longshaw is a single storey, post war purpose built school located in spacious grounds. We have two playgrounds and well-resourced separate outdoor play areas for both our Nursery and Reception children to enjoy.
