We are looking for an outstanding Fashion lecturer to join our Art & Design Department at Wigan & Leigh College. This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking, enthusiastic and highly productive Art & Design Department at an exciting time. We provide students with the technical skills and knowledge needed for careers across the creative sector and have extensive alumni of successful and professional working artists.

Applicants for this post require experience teaching at Level 3 along with well-developed practical skills in fashion design processes, pattern cutting, garment manufacture and applied textiles knowledge. Successful applicants will also have the ability to work with diverse academic art, design and fashion-related references.

Applicants for this post must have a Degree level qualification in Fashion Design or Fashion related subject along with a relevant Further Education teaching qualification. We expect applicants to be ambitious in their expectations for learners and share our commitment to deliver outstanding teaching and learning.

Wigan and Leigh College is a further education college in Wigan, Greater Manchester, which has been providing education and training locally for more than 150 years. It employs around 1,000 staff and has a student roll of about 17,000. Further education students can choose the A-level professional honours programme or vocational qualifications such as BTECs. An expanding higher education portfolio of foundation degrees, top-up degrees, higher nationals and certificates is available to adult students of all ages, both full-time and part-time. 

Wigan and Leigh College operates from several sites across the borough: the Parson’s Walk Centre, School for the Arts and Pagefield Centre are in Wigan, close to the town centre. The Image Centre and Leigh College are close to the town centre of Leigh.
