We are seeking a highly experienced and dedicated teacher who can deliver high quality lessons to students on our Sport and Public Services courses to achieve outstanding results.

You will be working in a highly successful Sport and Public Services department with access to excellent facilities for classroom teaching, practical sport and fitness delivery.

In Sport, we offer a range of qualifications from Sport and Exercise Science to an FdSc Sports Coaching degree in partnership with UCLaN. In Public Services, we offer qualifications from levels 1 to 5 including a newly developed HND in Public Services. We also have extensive links to the uniformed Public Services to enhance the student’s experience. 

We have a strong network of employers who work with the College to provide excellent work experience placements to prepare our students to become outstanding ambassadors in the Sport and Public Services industries. 

We are looking for individuals with excellent Sport and Public Services knowledge and an ability to teach learners with a range of abilities from level 1 to degree level.

The successful candidates will have a strong track record of excellent results and experience in offering a range of enrichment activities both as part of the curriculum and to enhance the student experience.

We will consider candidates who are specialists in Sport, Sport Science, Public Services or a combination.

Wigan and Leigh College is a further education college in Wigan, Greater Manchester, which has been providing education and training locally for more than 150 years. It employs around 1,000 staff and has a student roll of about 17,000. Further education students can choose the A-level professional honours programme or vocational qualifications such as BTECs. An expanding higher education portfolio of foundation degrees, top-up degrees, higher nationals and certificates is available to adult students of all ages, both full-time and part-time. 

Wigan and Leigh College operates from several sites across the borough: the Parson’s Walk Centre, School for the Arts and Pagefield Centre are in Wigan, close to the town centre. The Image Centre and Leigh College are close to the town centre of Leigh.
