Lecturer A – Science (Permeant full and part-time positions available)

37 hour per week pro-rata

We are seeking experienced and dedicated lecturers who can teach students on science courses to achieve outstanding results, the role includes providing tutorials, support, administrative and outreach work plus organising trips and visits. You will be expected to monitor, guide and record the progress of a group of students as their personal tutor.

You will be working in a highly successful science department, with access to excellent facilities for classroom teaching. In Science, we offer a range of qualifications from Level 2 through to Level 5 and the successful person may be required to teach across these.  The successful candidate will have a strong track record of excellent results and proven experience in curriculum development to enhance the student experience.

We have a strong network of employers who work with the College to provide excellent work experience placements to prepare our students to become outstanding ambassadors in the sport industry.

Wigan and Leigh College is a further education college in Wigan, Greater Manchester, which has been providing education and training locally for more than 150 years. It employs around 1,000 staff and has a student roll of about 17,000. Further education students can choose the A-level professional honours programme or vocational qualifications such as BTECs. An expanding higher education portfolio of foundation degrees, top-up degrees, higher nationals and certificates is available to adult students of all ages, both full-time and part-time. 

Wigan and Leigh College operates from several sites across the borough: the Parson’s Walk Centre, School for the Arts and Pagefield Centre are in Wigan, close to the town centre. The Image Centre and Leigh College are close to the town centre of Leigh.
