We have an opportunity to recruit either an Advanced Practitioner or a Lecturer in Bricklaying, please note there are different salary bandings for the roles.

Advanced Practitioner – Salary banding - £31,267 - £37,342 per annum – Depending on Experience  The successful candidate will have a level 3 Bricklaying qualification and hold a level 5 teaching qualification, previous teaching/assessing experience and the delivery of functional skills maths & English is essential.

Lecturer – Salary banding £24,687 - £29,473 per annum – Depending on Experience  The successful candidate will have a level 3 Bricklaying qualification, and 3 years relevant industry experience in the subject. Teacher training will be provided as part of the Lecturer role, candidates from industry will be considered.

The position involves teaching level 1 and 2 Brickwork students in both practical and theory lessons. Updating and developing the course material including suitable training aids, lesson plans. There is a requirement for you to teach Functional Skills in Maths and English.

You should have a strong commitment to high standards of classroom practice and experience of teaching, or working with young people. You should hold at least a Level 3 qualification in Bricklaying and ideally hold a recognised teaching qualification, although full teacher training will be provided.

The college offers a structured induction programme for those new to teaching, you will be paired with an experienced mentor and start on a reduced teaching timetable, gradually increasing as your experience and skills strengthen. You will gain broad experience in a teaching environment from enrolment, SAR process to results day. You will also have the opportunity to experience a variety of departments at the college.
