Lecturer/Assessor in Business and IT

Exeter CollegeDevon

As a Lecturer/Assessor within the Business and IT Faculty you will be joining a very successful, ambitious and growing team supporting young people on our apprenticeship programmes. We currently have apprentices on Customer Service, Business Administration, Infrastructure Technician and Software Developer programmes.  You will be responsible for assessing Business and IT related NVQ qualifications as well as other apprenticeship standards components.

As part of the role you will carry out regular employer visits to assess learners in the workplace and review their progress with their supervisor, maintaining accurate up to date records for your designated caseload.  The role will require you to work independently for large periods of time so you will need to be confident working without direct supervision.  An important part of the role is fostering and developing long term relationships with the employers for whom our apprentices work.

Our apprenticeship team supports and works closely with our teaching team to ensure the apprentice is supported from start to finish throughout their journey.  The team use the online One File system to track all aspects of the learner progress and achievement, along with employer reviews.  You will also contribute to Internal Verification and standardisation activities that form an essential part of the Quality Assurance cycle.

You will be expected to participate in marketing and recruitment of apprenticeship programmes to prospective employers.

The successful applicant will need to hold, or be willing to work towards, a TAQA (A1 or equivalent) qualification.

To apply for this post please visit our website at www.exe-coll.ac.uk.

The closing date for receipt of completed application is 18th May 2021 at midnight.

Successful applicants will be required to undertake an enhanced disclosure by the DBS.

We do not accept CV’s, no agencies please.
