Newcastle College require a dedicated, enthusiastic and qualified person to take on the role of Lecturer in the Adult Employability Department..
The main responsibilities of this role include the delivery and assessment of high quality learning programmes in Employability and ICT (Entry level 3 and Level 1), as well as undertaking a range of programme leadership, tutorial and programme administration duties (including recruitment and enrolment to courses).This post may involve working across two sites (Riverside Dene Campus & Denton Burn Library), and will involve teaching Job Centre Plus Clients.
This post requires a strong background in delivering Employability and ITQ qualifications and the candidate must have proven track record and professional expertise in this area. The candidate must also be an experienced and qualifed Internal Verifier.
The candidate should ideally be qualified to degree level, hold a post-16 teaching qualification, and have an English & maths qualification at level 2 (or be willing to achieve these within an agreed timeframe). It is desirable that the candidate has experience of effective programme leadership in FE and has a proven track record of successful teaching and assessment practice.
An ability to self-manage workload, meet deadlines alongside strong oral and written communication skills and good IT skills are also essential. The hours of work will be flexible and may include evening and weekends according to demand.
