We are looking to recruit a qualified Lecturer to teach a class of up to 10 learners. Our learners are mostly pre-verbal or use assistive communication systems to make their needs understood. All the learners are working on the pre-entry national curriculum framework with functional maths and English embedded throughout the curriculum. Lecturers at Ambitious College are part of a wider Transdisciplinary Team that includes full-time Speech and Language and Occupational Therapists and BCBA qualified Behaviour Analysts. Each class is also supported by a dedicated team of Learning and Behaviour Specialists and Lecturers are provided with their own base classroom.

Working as a Lecturer you will:

  • Provide excellent delivery, teaching and course leadership to learners across Ambitious College
  • Safeguard and promote the welfare of the young people we support
  • Work with leaners to ensure they receive a service that delivers the outcomes specified in their Individualised Learning person-centred Plans
  • Prepare and deliver schemes of work, lesson plans, assignments and assessments in line with departmental and awarding body requirements
  • Work collaboratively with allied health professionals as part of a trans-disciplinary team

Working at Ambitious College, we offer a wide range of financial and wellbeing benefits, such as:

  • Highly competitive annual salary, paid over 52 weeks
  • Continuous professional development
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Subsidised classes and activities: such as yoga, zumba, running clubs and book clubs.

We are committed to investing in our people and their talent.  We make sure every single person is clear about their role, and has the tools, knowledge and learning they need to perform well and make a difference.

Ambitious about Autism is the national charity for autistic children and young people. We stand with autistic children, young people, champion their rights and create opportunities. The voices of autistic children and young people are at the heart of everything that we do. We want to help create a world where autistic children and young people are heard, included and supported.

Our specialist education services support autistic children and young people to be themselves and realise their ambitions:

- TreeHouse School is a non-maintained special school based in the heart of a thriving community in north London. It educates autistic pupils aged three to 19 from across London and the Home Counties.

- The Rise School is a thriving special school based in Feltham, west London educating autistic pupils aged four to 18.

- Ambitious College is a specialist day college for autistic young people aged 16 to 25. The college has two campuses situated in partnership with mainstream colleges in north and west London.

- Spring School is a special school dedicated to educating autistic pupils aged four to 19. It was opened in 2023 by the Ambitious about Autism Schools Trust and is based in Kingston, south west London.

- St. John’s College is a specialist college based in Brighton supporting young people aged 16-25. The college became part of Ambitious about Autism in 2023.

We stand with autistic children and young people. Now is the time for change. Now is the time for ambition.
