The Sheffield College – City Campus

This is an exciting opportunity for someone seeking to develop their career as an FE lecturer in Brickwork and Trowel Trades at The Sheffield College. The college is located on Granville Road in Sheffield, 5 minutes’ walk from the main train station.

Over the last 3 years the Construction Department has experienced significant growth in our student base due to high industry demand and our excellent links with local and national employers have also stimulated growth in apprenticeships.

We are now seeking to appoint a highly qualified and enthusiastic brickwork trades specialist to deliver this aspect of the curriculum on our City & Guilds and NOCN courses. The College has high standards of practice, and associated success rates are expected to be achieved.

Your strengths will be industry-based in bricklaying and trowelling and with teaching experience. The post involves leading, planning, preparation and delivery to brickwork and trowel apprentice students on a range of vocational courses at levels 1, 2 and 3. You will also be expected to contribute to the ongoing curriculum and team development within the construction department.

The successful candidate should either hold a teaching qualification or be willing to work towards achieving one for candidates applying straight from industry. The successful candidiate will be able to manage the duties and responsibilities of a course leader for apprenticeship provision.
