About the role
The role is full time (37 hours), permanent.
We have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as an Lecturer in Construction and the Built Environment. Lecturers at the College plan and deliver a wide range of challenging, relevant learning and work experiences that ensure all learners can develop and apply the skills, knowledge, behaviours and attitudes required for the 21st Century learning, life and work.
The successful candidate will:
To be a qualified Teacher or willing to work towards.
To hold a minimum of a Level 4 HNC in Construction and the Built Environment
GCSEs at Grade C / Level 4 or above in English and Maths, or equivalent.
Be conversant in CAD and BIM and able to deliver lessons using AutoCAD and Revit.
Desirable – Current knowledge and / or experience of teaching in one or more fields of Construction and he Built Environment
Current knowledge of potential issues in the sector that may impact on curriculum delivery.
Current knowledge and / or experience of career opportunities in the sector for 16 – 18 and 19+ learners.
Evidence of disseminating good practice effectively.
The ability to deal promptly and effectively with inappropriate behaviour in the classroom.
Excellent time management skills.
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
The ability to prepare written and visual teaching materials including the effective use of Information Learning Technology, eg Virtual Learning Environment, Power-Point supported by key software.
