Job overview

The delivery of Higher Education within the Engineering Directorate is growing rapidly with the number of full time and part time learners increasing year on year. Our success rates are high; our learners are motivated and enjoy the HE ethos at our college. As well as the traditional mechanical and electrical engineering pathways, we are expanding the courses we offer into sectors such as facilities management, building services, architecture, aerospace, logistics, quantity surveying and advanced manufacturing.

We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about Higher Education; you may be a current HE practitioner or you may currently teach at level 3 within a school or FE college and wish to take the next step in your career or you may be an NQT looking for a role away from mainstream secondary education. We invite applications from all sectors.

The successful candidate will have at least a level 5/ HND qualification in their field of study and a proven track record of working in their relative industry or academic field of study.

Possession of a teacher training qualification is desirable however; a willingness to work towards a teaching qualification would be acceptable.

An understanding of teaching methodology within higher education settings and the quality assurance processes associated with Pearson qualifications and/or franchised university foundation degrees would be advantageous.

Within your application you should indicate your specialisms and key skills. Please identify how they would enhance our HE team. We take the personal development of our team seriously and will actively enhance your professional status as a HE practitioner by working with you to achieve HEA fellowship status.
