Job overview

Joining us as English Lecturer, you will teach a combination of GCSE English Language and English Functional Skills. The GCSE teaching will be predominantly to students aged 16-19 years and will include preparing students for June exams, marking homework and mock exams, student monitoring and where appropriate, curriculum development.


With a Degree or relevant professional qualification in an appropriate subject, the successful candidate will have excellent teaching skills in GCSE English and/or Functional Skills English and have the ability to support, motivate and empathise with learners including monitoring their progress.


Hardworking and flexible, you will have energy, enthusiasm and passion for the subject and education and have an awareness of academic quality standards. You will have high personal standards and expectations, the ability to work effectively as an individual and as a team to achieve targets and be receptive to new ideas and initiatives, with a creative approach to problem solving.
