Job overview

The Art & Design department at Newcastle College are looking to appoint an experienced Lecturer of Fashion Business and Retail.


You will have a teaching qualification or working toward one. You will have experience in delivering and assessing of Fashion Business Retail across Level 3 Further Education.


Experience in teaching across a range of areas relating to the fashion industry in addition to your own area of specialism is essential. Digital skills associated to the provision are as follows. Adobe software: Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign

 

You will have experience of brand management, identity, brand positioning and range planning.


Other related skills associated are graphics and communication design, visual communication and  promotion. Offline and online communication, communicating brand values and attracting and retaining customer loyalty in the marketplace. 


You will have experience in planning and assessment for learning, offering engaging lessons that stretch and develop learners, knowledge, skills, and behaviours of the subject.  


Experience in providing detailed, constructive feedback to support learner progress. In a remote capacity you will need to be able to use teams and zoom software for classes and feedback purposes.


Work with learners and tutors to develop high quality resources. Assess and closely monitor learners’ progress in sessions and over time to support high level achievement.


Industrial knowledge and experience of the fashion business industry as a whole and an ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of the learners.
