Job overview

We are seeking an experienced Lecturer in Health and Social Sciences we actively encourage applications from individuals currently working in the Health and Social Sciences industry. We are looking an individual who has the ability to share their passion and enthusiasm, and have the ability to encourage and inspire young people.

As a Lecturer your role will include teaching, and assessing on a range of programmes as required by the Curriculum Director.  These may include: Teaching and directing courses at Level 1, 2 and Level 3 Diplomas. The successful candidate will also be involved in the development of existing and new course programmes.

You will be required to work collaboratively with our Course Directors and Course Teams to drive quality improvements and standards but also overseeing and supporting our learners.

Role Responsibilities

  • Teach, and assess on a range of programmes as required by the Curriculum Director.  These may include: Teaching and directing courses at Level 1, 2 and Level 3 Diplomas.
  • Assist with the marketing and publicity of all courses within the Department as required.
  • Attend Employer, Parent, Career and other evenings as appropriate.
  • Participate in the development and delivery of short course programmes.
  • Act as mentor to new members of staff and give support to other new team members.
  • Undertake at least 30 hours personal, professional development annually, making a strong commitment to the development and accreditation of management and IT skills.
  • Undertake any other duties commensurate with the grade as required by the Head of School or Faculty.

Required qualifications, skills and experience

  • A degree and post graduate qualifications or equivalent professional experience and/or qualification in health, or health and  social care related field.
  • Relevant experience from the health and social care sector.
  • Teaching experience is desirable but not essential
  • Those without a teaching qualification would be required to achieve a qualification within the first 12 months of employment.
