This is an exciting opportunity for someone seeking to develop their career as a Main Grade Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering with specialist knowledge in Fabrication and Welding.  The Sheffield College has an excellent record of building strong relationships with their employers in meeting the skills development and training needs within their organisation.

The Engineering Department at The Sheffield College is working in partnership with Liberty Specialist Steels to provide excellent training to engineering apprentices at The Liberty Training Centre based on their Stocksbridge site.  This is an exciting opportunity for the candidate to be an integral part of the partnership between The Sheffield College and Liberty Specialist Steels (formally TATA Steel) in the delivery of an excellent learning experience for apprentices at the Liberty Training Centre. The Liberty Training Centre facility is utilised to develop the knowledge, skills and expertise of Engineering apprentices from the Liberty Group, as well as other organisations from the steel industry and additional manufacturing sectors.

There is also an expectation that the candidate can demonstrate good teaching, learning and assessment practice, as well as experience of communicating and preparing for External Quality Auditing by awarding bodies; although training and support would be provided to the right candidate to develop any of the aforementioned skills.

The Liberty Training Centre has stringent Health and Safety policies in line with industry standards and the candidate will be expected to adhere to and enforce this policy at all times.  The successful candidate should either hold a teaching qualification or be willing to work towards achieving one for candidates applying straight from industry or for those that have minimal teaching experience.
