An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lecturer in Music and Musical Theatre to join the expanding provision of Level 2 and Level 3 RSL courses in Music Performance and Music Technology, and the BTEC Level 2 and 3 Performing Arts courses at Sandwell College. 

The ideal candidate will possess a detailed understanding of the music and performing arts industries, having experience of working professionally within a variety of contexts: as a performer; composer; producer; and/or musical director.  You will ideally have experience in teaching music performance, music technology and musical theatre.  You will be a multi-instrumentalist, with excellent keyboard skills and the ability to teach ensemble and solo singing in a range of styles, and to accompany performances.  A teaching qualification and experience of working within the FE sector would be highly advantageous, as would a working knowledge of Rockschool and BTEC courses.  However, training in delivering these qualifications can be provided.

Music and Performing Arts sit within the wider Creative Industries department.  We are passionate and dedicated towards providing quality arts education and exciting opportunities to enable our students to be inspired and to aspire towards a career within their chosen specialism.  Course tutors regularly work in collaboration with staff and students across the department, and in partnerships with local and national businesses and arts organisations. 

As the Leadership College for Creative & Cultural Skills in the Midlands, this is an exciting time to join a growing department at Sandwell College.
