Job overview

This is an exciting time to join the Carnegie School of Education at Leeds Beckett University. As well as becoming one of the best performing providers of teacher education in the country, we’ve developed a reputation for innovation in our teaching, curriculum and partnership work. We’ve also created a strategy to embed research into everything we do but not just any research – we want to develop research that improves the life chances of children and young people, creating real impact in regional, national and international contexts. We’re also committed to embedding our practice into our extensive partnership, funding collaborative practitioner research in schools, evaluating private sector corporate and social responsibility projects and supporting social enterprises to build capacity.

As a result of growing student numbers, we’re seeking to appoint an inspirational and creative Lecturer in Primary Mathematics Education. The successful candidate will teach across our primary (3-11) QTS programmes – undergraduate, provider-led postgraduate and School Direct – as well as contributing to the further development of our well regarded ITE Partnership provision. You will have a first degree and a Master’s degree in a relevant area and be able to demonstrate an outstanding record of achievement in teaching. Successful candidates will be required to begin a doctorate upon appointment so you will also need to demonstrate a clear focus for future research.

Closing Date: 22 May 2017 (Midnight)

We welcome applications from all individuals and particularly from black and minority ethnic candidates as members of these groups are currently under-represented at this level of post. Potential candidates are encouraged to make informal contact with the Head of Teacher Education, Dr Graham Parton: G.Parton@leedsbeckett.ac.uk
