Job overview

A lecturer is required to teach in the Information Communications Technology area of the College of Further Education.

 

The lecturer will plan and provide high quality teaching and learning on a range of courses, provide tutorial and pastoral support for at least one group of learners. The area currently delivers a range of BTEC courses to match employers’ and student’s needs with qualification pathways at Level 2 and 3, along with professional qualifications for industry. The students follow courses of study which allow progression opportunities within the ICT programme and onto either, other vocational courses, employment, or Higher Education.


The ICT area needs a dynamic and enthusiastic lecturer with relevant professional knowledge and experience in one or more of the following disciplines: Programming using current languages, HTML, Web Design, Multimedia Production, and a knowledge of Automated Computer Systems, Arduino, PICAXE, NXT Mindstorms, RaspPi, along with a detailed knowledge of current Microsoft Operating Systems and Office Products. The successful applicant will be expected to inspire students and be part of a very supportive and forward thinking team which will look to enhance the curriculum breadth, and develop strong links with local industry and align the provision to reflect the demands of this dynamic sector.
