The focus of this role is to teach A Level Sociology classes to students predominantly within the 16-19 age range. This includes preparing students for exams, completing controlled assessments, marking and setting regular assessments, student monitoring and where appropriate, curriculum development. Lecturers must follow agreed schemes of work and accurately record academic performance in our student information system.
With energy, enthusiasm and passion for Sociology and education, you will hold a Degree or relevant professional qualifications in an appropriate subject and have excellent teaching skills in Sociology, with experience of A Level Sociology delivery. Hardworking and flexible, you will have good planning, preparation and organisational skills and be able to support, motivate and empathise with learners, including monitoring their progress.
With an awareness of academic quality standards, you will be receptive to new ideas and initiatives and have a creative approach to problem solving. The ability to work effectively as an individual as well as part of a team is essential, as is the ability to use new technologies to enhance teaching and learning to support learners.
