Job overview

We are welcoming applications for a either a Lecturer or Team Leader in Computing & Digital on a full time, permanent basis although part time applications will be considered.

Joining us as a Lecturer in Computing & Digital, you must deliver excellent and inclusive teaching and learning in the classroom so that learners are inspired to succeed and progress. You will integrate appropriate and inspirational curriculum resources including ILT into lessons and plan delivery so that schemes of work and lesson plans support achievement. Undertaking ongoing high quality formative and summative assessment of learners’ work, both in class and through regular out of class activity to monitor progress, you must aim to ensure that learners succeed through progress reviews and initiate and respond to new curriculum developments and plan resources as appropriate.

Educated to degree level or equivalent in Computing/Digital or a related subject area, you must have experience of successful teaching (or teaching practice for NT’s) in Computing/Digital, or related courses and hold a full teaching qualification or professional recognition in learning and skills. 

The role requires an individual with the ability to deliver exceptional teaching and learning and inspire, motivate and engage learners. Capable of producing effective schemes of work and lesson plans, you should demonstrate a background of inclusive and challenging teaching strategies and of supporting students to attend by meeting their individual needs.

Alternatively, if you feel you have the necessary skills and experience, we are seeking a Team Leader to join our dedicated and professional Computing & Digital Department, on our journey to T-Level delivery. As a Team Leader in Computing & Digital, you must deliver excellent and inclusive teaching and learning in the classroom, so that learners are inspired to succeed and progress. You will be expected to contribute to curriculum development including reviewing and evaluation of the relevant programmes. You will monitor performance on courses in area of responsibility and instigate action plans as appropriate and develop strategies for maximising success rates and, where appropriate, value added.

A degree or post graduate qualification in Computer Science or a closely related discipline is essential, as is the ability to teach and inspire students to produce complex solutions to coding problems.
