The Trustees of George Dixon Academy are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and skilled Teaching Assistant to work in the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Department.  

The department supports students with a range of additional needs and is proud of the positive achievements of these students.

Teaching Assistants are deployed to support students in their learning and to work closely with the class teacher and the SENCO.  They help to deliver interventions designed to ensure that students make good academic and social progress and in doing so achieve their potential.

Interested candidates must hold a minimum of Grade C at GCSE English and maths. Experience of working in an educational environment with secondary aged children with special educational needs is desirable.

The successful candidate should be passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with a range of needs, dedicated to maximising student achievement, excited about collaborative working and keen to join a school that is relentless in its pursuit of excellence.  George Dixon Academy is proud of its status as one of the highest achieving schools in England in terms of sustained Progress 8 scores.

George Dixon Academy is a secondary school located in Birmingham, West Midlands. Founded in 1906, the school provides places to approximately 1000 pupils aged 11-18 in a co-educational setting, with around 100 of these on roll in the school sixth form, making it average-sized for a secondary school of its type.
