Level 3 Apprenticeship: ICT Technician

Alder Community High School has a fantastic development opportunity for an Apprentice ICT Technician working as part of our wider school team. 

As an apprentice, under the supervision and direction of the ICT and Network Manager, the Business Manager and other school staff, you will provide ICT technical support to the school community. As a first point of contact for all ICT related enquiries, you will provide a calm, professional, and efficient technical support service. 

You will need to be an excellent communicator, have a keen interest in and understanding of ICT and a willingness to further develop these skills. You will also need to have an organised approach to your work with meticulous attention to detail. Punctuality and reliability are essential. 

The successful candidate will receive on the job training and will complete a Level 3 ICT Technician qualification. Working alongside experienced staff you will build up knowledge of school systems and procedures and develop many transferable skills to support you in your career. 

Please note this role is only open to applicants who are not studying for or hold an apprenticeship or any equivalent qualification at the same level or higher in the field applied for. 

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. Appointment is subject to satisfactory references and an enhanced status check from the Disclosure and Barring Service. 

The hours of work are 36 hours per week Monday to Thursday 8:00am to 4.00pm, and Friday 8:00am to 3:45pm term time only plus 4 additional weeks to be worked as required throughout the school holidays.  Additional holidays cannot be taken during term time.
