32.5 hours per week, term time only
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, qualified Teaching Assistant with experience of working with individual children who have specific learning needs. Candidates need to have experience of interventions and one to one teaching and demonstrate an understanding of learning and life skills. Other responsibilities include liaising with staff regarding curriculum, adapting resources, recording and monitoring progress and liaising with families as appropriate. Candidates will need to hold Level 3 qualifications that are currently approved on the Ofqual website. The successful candidate will be fully supported in their career and professional development through a vast programme of CPD provided by the academy.
Handsworth Wood Girls’ Academy is an 11-18 comprehensive school in the north-west of Birmingham. Our student intake is from a variety of ethnic backgrounds, making for a very harmonious and happy school. This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to speak fluent and spoken English is an essential requirement for this role.
