Harris Clapham Sixth Form is looking for an organised and knowledgeable Librarian to join our brand new sixth form.

Your opportunity

As Librarian, you will manage the library, reference areas and careers space. In our first year, when we open with Year 12 students only, you will also give some additional administrative support to the Assistant Principal, for example in relation to careers/regulated study support.

What we are looking for

We look for talented individuals who want to be a part of transforming education in London, and helping create exceptional places of learning. The successful candidate will have:

  • Knowledge of library systems and, ideally, librarian qualifications 
  • Experience of managing a library service, including working with careers materials and references and purchasing fiction and non-fiction texts for a secondary school
  • Ideally, an understanding of reading materials for 16 to 19 year old

About Harris Clapham Sixth Form

Harris Clapham Sixth Form is a brand-new academy opening to 300 Year 12 students in September 2021. Our capacity is 600 students over Year 12 and 13 . Our vision of ‘Be the best’ will apply equally to staff and students. Our building will have excellent facilities, all specifically designed to meet the needs of a sixth form curriculum.

Our values focus on Courage, Confidence and Commitment. These will underpin all our work. The academy will also have a particular focus on leadership, that is taking every opportunity to ensure students identify and develop their leadership potential.

Located within easy reach of both Clapham Common and Brixton underground stations, Harris Clapham Sixth Form is at the heart of Lambeth. We will be situated on Kings Avenue (on the site of the previous Territorial Army building on SW4). Construction is well under way and scheduled to finish in the summer of 2021.
