As such, our provision is designed to be up to date, flexible, accessible and responsive to all our customers’ needs, serving approximately 8,000 students across two main campuses, several satellite centres and on work based programmes. We have state of the art facilities and an excellent learning/working environment, including a sports complex, aeronautical and aviation centre, arts centre and specialist vocational workshops.

At present we employ 269 salaried teaching and assessing staff. We also employ 256 administrative staff, 38 managers and approximately 200 hourly paid teachers and assessors. Solihull College and University Centre is rightly proud of its reputation within the sector and with employers and the community if serves. These are challenging times for the education sector and the College continues to maintain a strong financial position enabling it to invest in its human and physical resources to provide outstanding opportunities for its learners. Library Information Assistant – Temporary sickness cover 

£8.76 per hour 

We are looking for a confident and outgoing person to help promote and support electronic and printed information resources in the College Libraries and Open Access Centres. 

You must have experience of working with young people and have well-developed information literacy skills as well as good all-round IT skills. This is a customer-facing role so effective communication skills teamed with excellent people skills are essential as is a commitment to Equality and Diversity and Equal Opportunities. Recent public or academic Library experience would be advantageous. 

The post is sickness cover therefore availability for an immediate start is essential.
