Emerald Christian College is a co-educational, independent kindergarten - Year 12 School located in Emerald, a town situated in the rural Central Highland region of Queensland 300 kilometres from the coastline. 

The college was opened in 2001, with just 18 students, as the only independent school in the town of Emerald. Enrolled today are approximately 259 students supported by 22 teaching staff.

Facilities

Emerald Christian College has a range of facilities including dedicated home economics and arts rooms, college library, computer lab and manual arts building. In catering to students’ physical education, the school has abseiling training facilities as well as playgrounds and recreational facilities for all ages.

Curriculum

The college follows the guidelines of the Australian Curriculum, providing students from K-5 with grounding in the Key Learning Areas and students from Years 6 onwards with access to a range of additional subjects including manual arts, hospitality, computer studies and media arts. While offering senior students subjects to gain a university entrance, the college also provides a range of trade based subjects such as engineering, hospitality and agriculture.
