Hours of Work: 37 hours per week (Monday to Friday), term time plus 10 days
Term time only includes working 2 out of 5 INSET days each academic year as directed by the school, with availability to work any or all of the remaining 3 INSET days at short notice should the need arise, and for which additional payment will be made
Salary Band G Pro rata salary £22,414 - £24,403
Points 19-23 (based on a full time salary of £24,799 - £26,999)
(plus an additional 1 week of pay if the appointee has 5 years or more continuous service with the Local Authority)
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Learning Resource Centre Manager and Literacy Coordinator to manage, develop and promote the learning resource centre, with a particular focus of developing literacy skills. You will be responsible for ensuring that an effective service is provided to all students and staff, developing a love and appreciation of reading. As the Literacy Coordinator you will be responsible for facilitating an increased standard of literacy for all students, including the delivery of small group literacy intervention sessions.
The successful candidate will support and encourage a learning environment throughout the school which allows children to acquire and develop literacy skills.
The successful candidates will:

- Be interested in the development of young people
- Have good communication and written skills
- Be energetic, well-motivated and flexible
- Have a professional manner and plenty of common sense
- Be able to work with ICT
- To be able to work as a team
You will be based at Aston Academy, however the role may involve working at other academies within the trust.
