Job Title:       Literacy Intervention Instructor

Location:            Belmont Secondary School, Rawtenstall

Salary:         Up to  £21,000 per annum 

Hours:                37.5 hours per week

Contract:            Permanent; term time only

Are you a Literacy Intervention Instructor committed to improving the lives of children and young people?

As the Literacy Intervention Instructor, you deliver an affective literacy and phonics intervention program to help students bridge the gap on their peers developing key skills required to become competent in English/reading.

Qualifications Required: GCSE's grade C / 4 and above in English, Maths and Science.

Job purpose

  • To ensure provision of an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for students studying in the curriculum area, in accordance with the aims of the school and the curricular policies, in relation to delivering literacy programmes.
  • To contribute to raising standards of student attainment.
  • To facilitate and encourage a learning experience which provides students with the opportunity to achieve their full potential.
  • To develop and enhance the teaching practice of others in relation to supporting literacy in the classroom.
  • To monitor and support the overall progress and development of students in terms of literacy progression.
