The successful applicant will:

 

  • have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education;
  • hold current registration with the Queensland College of Teachers; and
  • be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.

We are seeking a qualified LOTE teacher who is experienced in teaching the Italian and/or French language and culture to primary students from Prep to Year 6. LOTE is a valued aspect of the school’s curriculum, directly supporting the teaching of cross curriculum priorities and cultural literacy by our class teachers. It is essential that the successful applicant has experience of teaching in the early years. It is important the applicant understands we wish to provide a deeper global perspective to the teaching of LOTE. We are looking for a teacher who will spread wonder and enthusiasm about the future global world our children will engage in.

Holy Family School caters for primary students and has an approximate enrolment of 250 students, situated in Indooroopilly. Our vision of  "Strength and Gentleness" is born from St Brigid and the Brigidine Sisters who founded our school community. Holy Family School has a rich tradition of providing an inclusive, Catholic education to the families of Indooroopilly and beyond. Employment Tenure:   Part Time + Fixed Term

Tenure Duration (if "Fixed Term"):  Commencing Term 2 through till the end of school year

If Part Time, hours and/or days required: At this stage we have 11 classes from Prep to Year 6. We plan to implement LOTE for all of our students covering 7 hours 20 min contact time; however we will increase this to 9 hours to allow for collaboration with class teachers. We are hoping our LOTE classes will be conducted on Thursdays and Fridays, but this preference is open to negotiation.

Employment Conditions:   Diocesan Catholic Education Employing Authorities in Queensland Single Interest Agreement 2015-2019 


This position involves working with children.  The appointment of successful applicants will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for child related employment in accordance with the law.
