Together the Group forms a Sixth Form, Skills and Technology Centre, University Centre, employer training and adult learning provider delivering exceptional teaching and learning to all ages and at all levels. 


The Exciting Role 

The College Group is looking for Two Learning Resource Centre Officers on a part-time, permanent basis. This role will be essential in shaping the Learning Resources Centre. This role will be based at our Nelson & Colne College site.


What You Will Be Doing

• To assistant and support the Senior LRC officer and Careers & Student Services Manager

• To provide support, advice and guidance to staff and students using all aspects of LRC resources including print and e-resources, ICT equipment, printers and copiers

• To carry out a range of library desk duties including issuing/discharging/renewing items, the provision of a staff/student enquiry service and the effective use of a range of electronic library management systems in accordance with GDPR regulations


What We Are Looking For:

• Level 2 (or equivalent) qualification in Maths/English

• Experience of working in a customer service role

• A recognised library qualification or working towards it (desirable)

About Nelson and Colne College

Nelson and Colne College, located in the town of Nelson, Lancashire, offers further education to 1,600 full-time students and 3,500 part-time adults. The college was founded during the reorganisation of education in Pendle in the early 1970s and created by the merger of several local sixth forms. 

Recent investments have included a £2m engineering facility, an all-weather sports pitch and gym, fully equipped science laboratories, and student study and social spaces. In January 2017, Nelson and Colne College launched a university centre to offer a range of higher education programmes in East Lancashire and beyond.
