Job overview

Park Hill Junior is a popular and friendly three form entry junior school situated within a strong community in Croydon. Our children are thoughtful, caring, well-behaved and keen to learn; we have a committed and supportive team of staff and governors focused on providing the best opportunities for our pupils.

We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic and reliable applicant to join our enthusiastic, hard-working, supportive and friendly team at our school. To work under the direct instruction of teaching/senior staff, usually in the classroom with the teacher, to support access to learning for pupils and provide general support to the teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom.

The position would be ideal for a graduate wanting to work towards teacher training, although a degree is not essential and all applicants with great skills in supporting the learning of children will be considered.

About Park Hill Junior School

Working within the Park Hill Family

Our School comprises a three form entry Junior Mixed School to accommodate approximately 360 children, aged between 7 and 11 years. PHJS became an academy and joined the Folio Trust in April 2017; the advantages and benefits of being part of a forward thinking MAT are being realised with time and offers career potential across the Trust.

This is a vibrant school community and our children make us smile every day with their joyous outlook on life and their enthusiasm and love of learning. We call ourselves ‘The Park Hill Family’ and we really do look after each other.

We encourage our children to be respectful, kind, resilient, rigorous and aspirational and these qualities pervade our teaching and ethos. We want our children to be the best they can be and we strive to give them the tools through which this can be achieved. In line with the key message of Folio schools, we truly believe in them and we want them to believe in themselves, to know that they can do anything if they try their best and set their sights high.

Wrap around care is provided before and after school (8am-6pm) for children from the Junior and neighbouring Infant school.

Working in Education is both challenging and rewarding, with our collaborative approach there is opportunity to flourish and develop teaching and leadership careers.
