Aureus Primary School is a brand new, state of the art primary school that opened on the Great Western Park, Didcot, in September 2018. We opened with Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 2. We will grow to two forms of entry with a maximum capacity of 420 pupils once full. We are currently looking for two lunchtime supervisors to join our in house catering team, working 11.45am to 1.15pm Monday to Friday (term time only).

Core Purpose:

  • To supervise children both in the dining area and in play areas to ensure the orderly conduct, welfare and safety of children during school lunch breaks.

Key Accountabilities:

  • To ensure that children remain within the permitted areas of the school during the lunch break and to intervene in any situation where the safety of a child may be at risk.
  • To supervise the movement of children between classrooms, and play and dining areas from the start of the lunch break until classes re-commence, and to ensure orderly conduct in the dining area.
  • To assist children getting lunch and sitting at the table.
  • To assist children cutting up food and pouring water.
  • To give comfort and support to individual children.
  • To encourage children to eat  their food.
  • To help children to clear their plates, cutlery and beakers. 
  • To stop any activity by children which may become too boisterous and may result in an accident.
  • To follow normal first aid rules, in the event of an accident, remaining with the child and immediately arrange for a child to summon help from other staff. Ensure that the incident is properly recorded.
  • To attend first aid training and to administer first aid and log any medical concerns.
  • To report any incident that has given cause for concern to the Cook or Co-Deputy Headteacher.
  • To ensure that, where necessary, children form quiet, orderly queues, and behave in an appropriate manner while eating. Assist children as necessary.
  • To summon assistance from other members of staff, in cases of serious misconduct or disobedience, 
  • To encourage sharing, cooperation and inclusion for all.
  • To supervise the washing of hands by all children.
  • To clear dining hall tables in readiness for a second sitting, where appropriate.
  • To check and supervise corridors and toilets during lunch period.

Oxfordshire County Council designed and built our beautiful new school which is two form entry with a nursery, and will have a maximum capacity of 420 pupils when full.
