About the Role

0.5 Contract - 17.5 Hours Per Week

FTE Salary: £24,705 - £34,765

 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Performing Arts Lecturer in one of the country’s largest Colleges. The City of Liverpool College Group serves 12,000 learners each year from a diverse variety of backgrounds from around the city region. The department is home to excellent facilities in the heart of the city centre.

Working in the College’s Art Centre, the successful applicant will be expected to plan, prepare and deliver high quality lessons in a wide variety of creative contexts. This role will support full time courses such as UAL Performing Arts, BTEC Performing and Production Arts, HNC and HND in Acting and Musical Theatre and may include programme leader responsibilities.

The successful applicant will have a specialist teaching qualification and experience and must have a significant, proven experience of working within the creative sector. Internal verification processes are integral to the role and applicants will have a proven track record of handling different internal quality processes in an academic setting.

Currently the college serves more than a third of all 16-18 year olds in Liverpool, and educates almost 12,000 learners a year. In 2018 the college achieved a pass rate of 99.6% beating the national average of 97.6% for a-level results. Within this year as well we had a 100% pass rate in modern languages.

However, the college itself is not just facts and figures. The mission statement of provide high quality skills and education by delivering opportunities for growth to all people and business of the Liverpool City region, shows inclusivity and a community understanding. The ease in which to get here helps quite a lot to. Be it driving, buses, trains or even a ferry you are never short of options. 

Being that working/living in Liverpool does offer a wide range of experiences to have. Historical buildings like the Bombed out church, Royal court theatre house or even a hidden gem like the Bluecoat School lane which boasts being the oldest building in Liverpool. The Beatles museum is a popular place to explore the band and possible find bits out about them you might not have known. Or if just unwinding and relaxing there are multiple pubs/bars, restaurants, and comedy nights to enjoy.
