An exciting opportunity exists for a talented and experienced Plumbing Lecturer to join the City of Liverpool College and play a leading role in realising our vision of being one of the top five colleges in the UK; renowned for its work with employers and the impact on economic growth. Working in our purpose-built modern Plumbing workshops, at our Vauxhall Road campus in Liverpool, you’ll be part of a team who encourage learners to unleash their full potential and be creative, through hands-on learning. You will have the ability to develop, prepare and maintain a safe and secure learning experience as well as working with young people to achieve their future potential.


The perspective candidate must have:


A Level 3 NVQ in Plumbing

Relevant industry experience

An Assessor qualification

A Teaching qualification

The Plumbing Department is an intergeral part of a leading and long-established Sustainable Construction & Building Services School that offers high quality courses from Level 1 up to Level 3 in Construction Craft and Building Services. In addition to this, we support local and national employers with short assessment courses such as;  ACS, 18th Edition Regulations, Unvented, Water Regulations, AM2, AM2s, AM2e and the Advanced Assessment of Competence. The central focus of our portfolio of courses is to ensure our students gain the practical skills and expertise that are necessary to forge a path of employment in the Construction and Building Service industries. In order to facilitate this, we have a dedicated team of experienced and outstanding lecturers, with an excellent working knowledge of Construction and Building Services.    


Further to this, staff provide a creative and supportive environment with a commitment to diversity and inclusion. Our departmental aim, above all else, is to help all students reach their fullest potential; both while they are studying with us, and when they leave to embark on their careers.

Opened in 1992 after being formed from a number of colleges in the city we now have 5 locations situated in the heart of Liverpool. Currently the college serves more than a third of all 16-18 year olds in Liverpool, and educates almost 12,000 learners a year. In 2018 the college achieved a pass rate of 99.6% beating the national average of 97.6% for a-level results. Within this year as well we had a 100% pass rate in modern languages.

However, the college itself is not just facts and figures. The mission statement of provide high quality skills and education by delivering opportunities for growth to all people and business of the Liverpool City region, shows inclusivity and a community understanding. The ease in which to get here helps quite a lot to. Be it driving, buses, trains or even a ferry you are never short of options. 

Being that working/living in Liverpool does offer a wide range of experiences to have. Historical buildings like the Bombed out church, Royal court theatre house or even a hidden gem like the Bluecoat School lane which boasts being the oldest building in Liverpool. The Beatles museum is a popular place to explore the band and possible find bits out about them you might not have known. Or if just unwinding and relaxing there are multiple pubs/bars, restaurants, and comedy nights to enjoy.

That’s not to say our college doesn’t offer its own fair share of experiences. Within the 5 locations the following are available;
