MAINSCALE TEACHER

REQUIRED FROM 1st SEPTEMBER 2020

It’s an exciting time to be part of the Catholic Academy Trust in Hull! The Trust has undergone a fantastic and rewarding journey expanding from 4 primary academies to include all 7 Catholic primary schools, as well as St Mary’s College - the top performing Catholic secondary school in the North of England.

The transfer to academy status and expansion of the Trust took place in October 2017.

The vision is to share best practice across all academies in the Trust and cross phase, to identify high flying staff and enhance career opportunities for those staff who have high expectations for our students and of themselves.

The Directors of St Cuthbert’s Roman Catholic Academy Trust are looking for an outstanding, enthusiastic and highly motivated teacher to work in Key Stage One and Key Stage Two in our schools.

You will:

• Successfully use assessment for learning to drive forward learning and pupil progress;

• Have a good understanding of the curriculum;

• Be passionate about how ICT impacts upon teaching and learning across the curriculum;

• Live out our core mission in all aspects of your practice, making a positive contribution to the Catholic ethos of our school;

• Encourage our children to achieve their potential;

• Be committed to achieving outstanding teaching and learning;

• Work well as part of our successful whole school team and Trust team;

• Have high expectations of behaviour.

• Recognise that parents, parish and parish partners all have an important role in our children achieving success.

We offer:

• A kind and caring ethos with high expectations;

• Support in your role through our mentoring and coaching programmes;

• Pupils who are motivated, friendly and excited by their learning;

• A committed, cohesive, enthusiastic and supportive trust team.

Hull was the City of Culture for 2017 and it has undergone a programme of regeneration and cultural expansion. Hull is a university city based in the beautiful rural county of East Yorkshire within easy reach of the Yorkshire moors and the coast. The city has a rich diversity of cultural activities to offer with easy access to the M1 and York, Leeds and Sheffield around an hour’s drive away. Only 8 miles away, the market town of Beverley is one of the top 10 best places to live in the UK yet a number of direct trains to London each day take less than 3 hours. Relocation to Hull has lots of benefits!

Applications are welcomed from newly qualified and experienced teachers.  An application pack can also be downloaded from St Mary’s College website under the ‘Career Opportunities’ section at www.smchull.org

Applications should be returned by email to HR@smchull.org

We hope you will decide to investigate our vacancy and look forward to hearing from you.
