Full time (52 weeks per year), Permanent Position

37hrs per week Monday to Friday - Flexible working pattern (some split shifts & weekend working)

We are looking to recruit a Maintenance Caretaker at St Mary’s School, Horam, to provide a responsive caretaking and maintenance service, to supervise cleaning staff and to ensure high standards of caretaking/cleaning throughout the school site and provide a clean and safe environment for users of the school buildings, fleet and grounds.

The Maintenance Caretaker will ensure that the premises are maintained and cleaned to the highest standards. It is important to have the ability to deal with unexpected problems that may arise. The successful applicant will provide high quality support to the other assistant caretaker and will supervise cleaning staff. There are both regular maintenance and routine cleaning duties associated with this role. The post holder must be able to work effectively and supportively as a member of the school team. Applicants should have a willingness to participate in further training and development opportunities offered by the school to further knowledge. Good IT skills for communicating, reporting, contacting contractors, accessing the school and maintaining records would be an advantage. They will also need the ability to work effectively within an environment where pupils may display challenging behaviour.
