A Maintenance / Grounds Person is required to help carry out the reactive day to day maintenance issues within the schools/residential homes and their grounds. This will include:

Liaising with contractors when on site and ad-hoc requests from management as and when necessary.

Being self motivated and have the ability to work with the minimum of supervision,

Having a flexible approach and the ability to prioritise and respond to the changing needs of the homes and schools

An understanding of the working environment and of young people with special education needs including Autism and BESD would be an advantage but not a requirement.

Aspris Children's Services specialises in high quality residential and educational provisions for children between 7-18 who may have SEMH and /or Autism. The safeguarding and wellbeing of our young people who may have experienced challenges in their lives is always paramount; along with encouragement to achieve their full potential.

We currently have two educational settings, Quay View School and Tor View School, and four Children's Homes in Tavistock, Gunnislake and Okehampton.

References

For all roles we require a minimum of two references.  References provided must cover the last 3 years, for all of our services we will need to request all references from where you have worked with either Children or Vulnerable Adults. Please be advised that references may be requested prior to interview for roles within our schools.

Tor View School is a newly developed school, opening in 2018. They are a school that creates a culture of excellence and team work. As a diverse school, Tor View in Tavistock specialises in high quality day and residential educational provisions for children aged between 7-19 with autism and/or complex learning needs. Tor View is part of Devon and Cornwall Services in the Southern Pennisula, which includes Quay View School in Bere Alston and four children's homes situated in local communities in Devon and Cornwall.
