Job Title:       Maintenance Technician 

Location:       Upton Grange School, Slough

Salary:            £26,000 per annum

Hours:            38.5 hours per week

Contract:       Permanent

Essential:     Must Hold a Full UK Driving Licence

Due to continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a full time Maintenance Technician to join Upton Grange School. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Site Resources Manager with the maintenance and health and safety.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for a Maintenance Technician who has a suitable qualification (or provide evidence of experience) of one of the following trades - carpentry, plumbing, decorating. Someone who is ICT literate for updating systems, able to priorities tasks anticipate and reduce risk where possible and an effective communicator. Ideally, someone who is IOSH trained, has a current first aid certificate and experience of COSHH, PAT testing, asbestos awareness and working at heights but this is not essential.

The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to solve problems independently, with a high degree of accuracy working in accordance with the health and safety policies and procedures of the group.

We are looking for someone that is able to deal with emergencies and problems in a positive and a systematic manner, work independently and as part of a team, has a willingness to undertake additional training and understand and is able to apply health & safety procedures relevant to the job.

Upton Grange School is a new specialist ASD provision. As part of the Hillingdon Manor group of schools and the Outcomes First Group, Upton Grange will offer day provision to children with Autism from the ages of 4 to 11 years old.

Upton Grange will provide specialist education for c35 pupils, aged between 4-11 years. Upton Grange deploys a wide range of teaching strategies to engage and develop the progress of learners, who present with a range of learning difficulties and styles. Our pupils are taught in smaller class sizes and work towards an Equals Semi-Formal Curriculum and National Curriculum expectations where appropriate.
