Maintenance Technician

RAK Academy is seeking a dynamic and committed Maintenance Techician to join us for the Academic Year 2022-2023. This is an exciting role which will be directly reporting to the Facilities Manager.

Job Purpose:

The maintenance technician is responsible for installing, repairing and maintaining a wide range of mechanical systems. They may work on heating and cooling systems, industrial equipment, or other types of machinery at RAK Academy.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting the Facilities Manager with mechanical design and maintenance tasks.

• Installing and performing diagnostic tests on mechanical systems.

• Developing and implementing mechanical maintenance plans to prevent costly equipment breakdowns.

• Troubleshooting mechanical malfunctions and breakdowns, as well as performing repairs.

• Documenting processes and maintaining mechanical service records.

• Monitoring the availability of parts and replenishing supplies.

• Optimizing mechanical efficiency by adjusting machinery and equipment settings.

• Training co-workers on the safe and efficient use of mechanical machinery and equipment.

• Maintaining a tidy work environment and adhering to industry regulations.

• Perform preventive maintenance work and support to implement Mechanical Integrity work, troubleshooting, repair for all equipment

• Knowledge of construction. Electrical and plumbing essential. 

• Identify Mechanical critical equipment and critical spare parts for the facility

• Repair and overhaul pumps

• Familiarisation with Equipment Alignment methods a plus -(Laser preferred)

• Assist Maintenance Lead in maintaining equipment manuals

• Exemplify ownership of plant and equipment with regard to housekeeping and reliability respectively

The candidate must have:

• Diploma/ Bachelors Degree

• Two years’ experience with a facilities management background.  

• Previous HVAC experience necessary

• UAE Driving license
