An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part time Marketing & Social Media Assistant to join Grantham College to support the Marketing function of the College through effective internal and external communication, resulting in increased online engagement through various social media platforms.

The roles main duties will be:

  • To handle internal and external calls to customers of the marketing department in a polite and customer-friendly manner
  • Under the direction of the Marketing Manager, source regular ‘good news’ stories across the college and create engaging social media posts across various platforms (i.e. Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and Snapchat)
  • Under the direction of the Graphic Designer & Web Editor, regularly review online content to ensure accuracy of information
  • To support the Marketing department with effective administration support and processing
  • Assist with marketing campaigns as required
  • Support marketing and recruitment events as required (e.g. fairs, festivals and open events)

The ideal candidate will need to have knowledge of the Further Education Sector, 5 GCSEs (grade A-D) or equivalent, excellent Microsoft Office (Word/Excel) knowledge. Possess excellent knowledge of and experience of using all social media platforms. In addition, they will also need to possess excellent administrative skills and highly organised, have outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Be creative, practical and able to work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines. Possess the ability to work in a high-pressure and fast pace environment as part of a small team. Also have a high level of computer literacy including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, email and MIS systems. Possess the ability to work on own initiative and prioritise workload, have good attention to detail, be flexible and adaptable, have a methodical and organised approach to work. Ideally they will also have experience of working in an administration role previously and some experience of working in an office/customer facing environment.
