Job overview

We’re looking for a marketing and social media assistant to provide professional and effective support to our school. This role in our ‘family experience’ team focuses on the day to day running of our social media channels, design and production of newsletters, updates to the school website and to be our in-house photographer.

We’re looking for someone with excellent communication skills and a creative flair for creating engaging content and telling stories to inspire audiences. In addition, applicants should have a fine eye for detail.

You may already have marketing communications, creative or other relevant experience or you may have relevant qualifications which are suitable to our role and looking for your first job in marketing. If so, we’d love to hear from you!

Core Purpose

  • To manage all aspects of the school’s social media and website
  • To assist with marketing events and collaterals
  • To attend school events within and beyond the school day to take pictures and ensure these are shared in a timely manner

  • To be able to deal professionally with children, staff and families
  • To be IT literate and an excellent and efficient administrator
  • To have a high standard of written and verbal English
  • To be involved in all aspects of school life including after school, weekends and evenings

Key Duties and Areas of Responsibility

  • Attend & promote school events, open days, school tours and school events for current and prospective parents
  • Ensure that a range of positive information about a wide range of aspects of the work of the school is on social media
  • To ensure that our social media is engaging, original and exciting
  • To support with the development of a range of marketing materials

Person specification

Essential

  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Expert in using social media to market

  • Understanding of and passion for the vision of our school
  • Understanding of different ways to promote the school to the present and potential future community
  • Understanding that ‘we all muck in’ - a positive and flexible approach to be involved with all aspects of life in our busy school

Desirable

  • Experience in using range of design software
  • Experience of working in a similar role

 In addition, all staff are required to carry out any tasks required by the school or the regional office to facilitate the smooth day to day running of the school

To be line managed by the school head of admissions and the local ISP head of admissions

Hours of work and holidays - This role does not have a fixed working day and requires the post-holder to work unsociable hours up to 48 hours per week. You may find yourself on a three-day expedition in the desert with our International Award pupils one week or attending a sporting competition the next. With school events in the evening and at the weekend, the post-holder is required to be flexible as per the needs of the school. As such, this role offers the post-holder paid school holidays - with the exception of two weeks at the start of the school year.

Salary: This role would pay a total monthly salary of up to AED 5000/- all inclusive. We do not provide extra housing or transportation.

About The Aquila School

The Aquila School opened in September 2018 and serves as an international school with an affordable fee structure offering a high-quality education in Dubai. The school offers the National Curriculum for England & Wales adapted to meet the needs of our global community. At present we have pupils from FS1 to Y8 - year nines will join us in August 2021

We are a happy community school. Staff work hard to ensure our children love school, love learning and make as much progress as possible.

As we grow, we will offer a wide range of I GCSE options which provide breadth and balance in terms of arts, science and practical subjects. In the sixth form we will offer both IB and BTec qualifications.
