Job overview

20 hours per week, term time only

We are looking for someone who is highly organised, approachable, flexible and who displays excellent communication and administration skills. The role requires working at pace and the ability to prioritise and work well under pressure. You will be proactive and able to work independently. This is an exciting opportunity for a creative, enthusiastic and adaptable person, who brings integrity, imagination and energy to play a vital role within a dedicated team of staff.

As Marketing Officer, you will be responsible for the implementation of the Academy’s marketing strategy, including brand, ongoing management of the website and social media, marketing collateral, events, public relations including the active promotion of school activities and achievements in the media.

We are a mixed 11-18 non-selective converter academy with approximately 835 students. Uplands Academy converted to an Academy in September 2022 and became a member of the MARK Education Trust (formally Beacon Community College Academy Trust). The acronym MARK was selected because staff who work in the trust are motivated, ambitious, resourceful, and knowledgeable. This partnership will provide many exciting opportunities for professional development, and the sharing of good practice across the two schools. This is the start of a new era for Uplands and an excellent time to join our thriving rural school.

We work meticulously to secure a culture of unapologetically high expectations that are underpinned by our collective, uncompromising belief and ambition for the students of Uplands Academy, and for the experienced, loyal, highly skilled and highly effective team of staff that teach them, allowing teachers to teach and students to learn. The Academy is committed to the development of both its staff and students.

Ideally this role is part time, for 20 hours per week to be worked over 4 days, term time only. However, flexible hours would be considered for the right candidate. This role is paid on Single Status Grade 7, currently £24,614 - £25,271 per annum full time equivalent. Actual salary would be £11,686 - £11,998.

Closing date: 10am on Monday 12th June 2023

We advise applying promptly for this post as we reserve the right to close and interview early if sufficient suitable applications have been received.

At Uplands Academy, the relationships between our staff and our students are excellent and ones that we are proud of. Our staff have high expectations, are ambitious for our students, and they know them well. We pride ourselves on our rigorous focus on the child as a unique individual, including our most disadvantaged and those with SEND. We ensure that the lessons that our students receive are personalised and inclusive, enabling them to be actively engaged in their learning.   We want our children to be happy, successful, and confident by providing the best possible education for all our students.
